The Derry heat is being held in conjunction with the Big Oak Arts Festival, which is running for the duration of the same weekend. For more info about the Big Oak festival see our blog

We are seeking poetic participants and folks who'd just like to come along and be a part of the audience. This is a BYO (Bring Your Own tipple) event, and entrance will be by donation when we pass the hat round on the day.

 

POETS:  Please prepare 2 poems, maximum 3 MINUTES per poem.

There will be 3 rounds (with the two poets making the final round having the option to perform one of the above again or do a new one)

 

REGISTRATION BEGINS AT 3.30PM for those wishing to take part. Please get down early as places are limited.

 

The winner of the Derry heat will be joining the winner of the Belfast heat and will go on to represent Ulster in the 2011 All-Ireland final (to be held in Derry later in the year).

Our judges this year will be:  Eamonn McCann, Anne Crilly and Anne Hamilton.  The two Anne's and the McCann will be mainly looking to ,merit poets on their: a.content, b.performance, and c. audience reaction.
