A Historic Murder remembered in song.....

Singer Songwriter Martin Sweeney will perform his song "The Man They Couldn't Hang" live on stage. Curiously this year is the 250th anniversary of the murder of Mary Ann Knox by her lover John Mc Naughton  in 1761. McNaughton Was hanged at Lifford but the rope broke and instead of escaping his fate McNaughton freely ascended the gallows to be executed a second time rather than be known as "Half Hung Mc Naughton," ...or so the story goes.  Mary Ann Knox lived in Prehen House!
