Alice McCullough

Alice's poetry moves from the everyday to the other-worldly, echoing her surreal yet sensitive love of storytelling that has a playful but often emotive edge. She has been performing on the local poetry scene in Belfast for over 5 years, gaining experience as a performer in a number of venues including The Black Box, The Safehouse, The Pavilion, The John Hewitt, The Front Page, Catalyst, Blick Studios, Studio 23, Craft Workshop, La Boca, The Crescent Arts Centre and Bookfinders. Her collaborative projects have included performing at the Edinburgh Fringe, writing for the theatre production 'Stone' in the West Belfast Festival and starring in the critically-acclaimed Black Box performances of 'The Vagina Monologues'. She was also one of the headlining poets at the Pigstock Festival 2011. Alice’s poetry has been published in various anthologies, the most recent being ‘The New Belfast Poetry Map.’ She will shortly be recording her first solo spoken word CD at Little Giant Studios, Lisburn.
